Bob Downs was a faithful member of St. Matthews Baptist Church for 34 years. Bob served as a member of the Recreation Committee and was instrumental in helping start Upward Basketball at St. Matthews. As an avid golfer, Bob helped organize the spring scramble that now bears his name. Bob died in 2001 of ALS, Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Bob’s wife, Anita died in 2018.
